The Change Maker’s Competency Wheel
A Transformational Competency Model
The Change Maker's Competency Wheel™ (Wheel) is the competency model upon which the Transformational Competency Assessment is based. The transformational competencies of the Wheel invite us to work with change not only as a process to navigate and lead but also as a practice to embody. It is grounded in the Wendling Liminal Pathways Change Framework™ and focuses on competencies needed to handle the uncertain and emergent process at the heart of transformational change.
Inspired by Gandhi’s use of the spinning wheel as a daily ritual of renewal and resistance, it serves as a metaphor for how we work with the generative and challenging tensions between what has been and what will be, applying liminal competencies to our inner development, and creating and using the outer support structures and resources needed to spin the thread required to weave new futures.
