Gisela Wendling, Ph.D.

CEO of The Grove with 30+ years’ experience using coaching-informed approaches in leadership, organizational consulting and transformational change work.

Gisela helps her clients expand their capacity to realize transformational, lasting change. With a whole-person, trauma-informed perspective and a rare transglobal lens, she brings a deep inner attunement to the life of leadership and thoughtful guidance to her coaching work.

Her approach is grounded in decades of experience, doctoral and post-doctoral research in organization and human development, and frameworks she developed to help leaders translate insight into purposeful action.

Gisela creates a compassionate and enlivening space for her clients to tap into new inner and outer resources and evolve their vision for what is possible now. She helps them bring courageous, values-aligned leadership to the challenges they face, especially in high-stakes, uncertain environments.

David Sibbet

Founder of The Grove, he has been consulting to organizations and their leaders since 1977 and co-developing leading-edge group-process tools for facilitation, team leadership and organizational transformation. 

David coaches leaders and consultants who hope to unlock the creative potential needed to start organizations, step into new positions, consult on transformational change, or embark on creative book writing and other expressive projects.

He has long experience guiding leaders through change and strategy processes and is experienced in team leadership development. His goal in coaching is to help clients clarify their intentions, understand and release blocks to progress, and grow awareness on spirit, heart, mind and body levels. This combines attention to inner processes as well as outer contexts.

He integrates skillful inquiry, guided by years of experience with leaders in public, private, and non-profit organizations, with active imagination, journaling, and other creative exercises.

Joran Slane Oppelt

Senior Consultant of The Grove, has decades of experience in strategic visioning, team development and coaching.

Joran is a certified Life Purpose Coach with over 15 years of experience coaching creatives, founders, executives, and teams. From the hiking trail to the boardroom, Joran has coached leaders in many different environments.

When possibility, empowerment, and commitment feel like they are at cross-purposes, he questions assumptions and challenges upper-limiting behaviors. Joran holds a deep belief in the power of human potential and in art-making as a tool for healing and community building.

Through goal setting, deep inquiry, and somatic experience, he uses a strengths-based/Positive Psychology approach. He enjoys working with those navigating change to create meaning, find their voice, and lead from wholeness.

Sarah is a systems change leader who guides individuals and organizations through major seismic shifts. She is an ICF Professional Certified Coach, Certified Forest Therapy Guide, and With Life Fellow in regenerative design. She has designed and delivered award-winning leadership development programs for NASA and led a global executive coaching program for Accenture.

For over 20 years, she has provided a calm presence to leaders navigating high-pressure situations from rocket launches to global acquisitions, emphasizing regenerative practices that promote both human and planetary well-being.

Karen Mathre is an executive coach and leadership strategist who helps leaders and teams find clarity and confidence amid complexity. With over two decades of experience in global Fortune 100 organizations, she brings a rare balance of business insight and human understanding to her work.

Her work is informed by her experience as a corporate executive, a master’s degree in psychology and organizational development, postgraduate training in evidence-based coaching and certifications in multiple leadership assessments, including Hogan, EQi 2.0, and MBTI.
