“Gisela is a wise teacher and guide, especially in the areas that elevate human potential. Her vast experience, which is hard to find, inspires contagious confidence and clarity. She guides you into the unknown in a way that reveals your true gifts, what’s possible, and where meaning lies.
This awareness opens real choices to move your ideas forward successfully. I have witnessed her helping others release limiting beliefs and develop generative narratives about their potential, which resulted in tangible financial success for their organizations.
She has been where she takes you and she can take you where you need to go.”

“Like all the best models, there is a beguiling simplicity to the Liminal Pathways Change Framework (LPF) that can open the door to a lifetime of study and practice. Grounded in ancient wisdom and modern perspectives, the LPF can be applied in coaching, counseling, team development, organization development and social change.Â
Dr. Wendling urges us to remember that all transformational change requires each affected person to go through a personal transformation, and to think about what kinds of inner and outer support structures in this situation, at this time, with these people, will empower them to grapple more effectively with the inner work of changing.”

About Liminal Pathways
With more than 30 years of professional practice, Gisela Wendling, Ph.D., has developed a successful methodology and framework for working with transformational change that is now central to The Grove’s approach. Practitioners across continents have been using the Wendling Liminal Pathways Change Framework™ for nearly two decades, and it is reaching an increasingly wider audience.
In 2018, she co-authored Visual Consulting: Designing and Leading Change with David Sibbet. This book outlines The Grove’s practical approach to organizational-change work, integrating her Liminal Pathways Change Framework™ with the Theory of Process that underpins all of The Grove’s methods into the Seven Challenges of Change™ model.
In 2023, Gisela Wendling published The Liminal Pathways Study, which highlights the efficacy and benefits of the framework and examines how change agents have applied it across a wide range of personal, professional, and organizational contexts. The ideas and insights presented provide a much-needed understanding of what truly occurs during change.
Her deep appreciation of the true challenge of engaging with the unknown—the liminal phase between what has been and what will be—has led her to develop The Change Maker’s Spindle, a competency model and assessment tool for change leaders and practitioners.
“Gisela has not only developed the Wendling Liminal Pathways Framework, but she has also extensively explored and researched the experience of transformation and liminality across many contemporary contexts and cultures, including traditional cultures. This background gives her work and approach a special depth.”
