Join change expert and author Gisela Wendling, Ph.D., for our upcoming session in this series, Activating Transformational Capacity, which offers an introduction to a powerful new way to understand and grow your capacity for transformational change.
Gisela Wendling will present participants with The Change Maker’s Spindle™ (CMS)—The Grove’s new transformational competency model, which is based on her ground-breaking Liminal Pathways Change Framework™ (LPF).
A downloadable mini-workbook will be provided in advance to support your engagement during the session.
Our previous Crossings session mainly focused on exploring the LPF. This session will delve deeper into the Change Maker’s Spindle, our new and innovative competency model.
In this interactive mini-workshop, you will:
- Learn about the Change Maker’s Spindle (CMS) and the competencies of mind, heart, body and spirit, to engage change as a transformational opportunity.
- Gain initial insight into the core transformational competencies you already use and those you may want to strengthen.
-
Learn about Change Confidence and the Change Confidence Assessment, a developmental tool for individuals, leaders, and guides working with change.
-
Use the LPFÂ to recognize what makes transformation processes not only demanding but also fruitful.
The Change Maker's Spindle™ (CMS)
The competencies of the Change Maker’s Spindle invite us to work with change not only as a process to navigate and lead but also as a practice to embody.
Inspired by Gandhi’s use of the spinning wheel as a daily ritual of renewal and resistance, it serves as a metaphor for how we work with the generative and challenging tensions between what has been and what will be, applying liminal competencies to our inner development, and creating and using the outer support structures and resources needed to spin the thread required to weave new futures.
It reminds us that just as Gandhi’s spinning was an act of reclaiming self-determination, the Spindle speaks to the alchemy of transformation: how disruption, crisis, and transformational change, if consciously engaged, can be spun into new insights, possibilities, and a new direction.
