Meet Our Team

David Sibbet

David has been an organizational consultant and information designer since 1977. He is the author of John Wiley & Sons' four-volume Visual Facilitation Series as well as many of The Grove's leading-edge group-process tools and models for facilitation, team leadership and organizational transformation. David is a master facilitator of large-scale group processes, strategic visioning and creative, future-oriented symposia. He frequently lends his coaching and design expertise to Grove project teams. His practice is informed by eight years of public affairs leadership development with the Coro Northern California Center for Civic Leadership. He holds a master's degree from Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and a B.A. in literature from Occidental College.

Laurie Durnell

Laurie Durnell has worked in organizational consulting, team development and management since 1993. A seasoned graphic facilitator and trainer, she has designed and delivered numerous programs incorporating Grove Storymaps and experience-based training for corporations and public-benefit organizations. In entrepreneurial and turn-around situations she has successfully managed rapidly changing organizations. Laurie has an M.B.A from Simmons Graduate School of Management, with an emphasis on organizational development, and a B.S. in natural resource conservation from the University of California, Berkeley.

Bobby Pardini manages the design team and handles all client requests requiring a design or consulting solution. In his 26-plus years at The Grove, he has worked on many communications-design and product-development projects. He has a master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri, Columbia and a bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of California, Berkeley. He joined The Grove Consultants International in 1990.

Gisela Wendling

Gisela Wendling, PhD is The Grove's vice-president of global learning, a senior consultant, and co-author (with David Sibbet) of the just-released Visual Consulting: Designing & Leading Change, fourth book in Wiley's Visual Facilitation Series. Gisela's expertise is based in over 25 years of working and consulting within a wide range of private and public organizations. Pairing a systems perspective with process-oriented and dialogic approaches, she creates unique opportunities for interactive, content-rich, outcome-focused and transformative change for her clients. Gisela also co-directs The Global Learning & Exchange Network (The GLEN), hosted by The Grove, supporting the evolution of collaboration within and across organizations and across cultures. Gisela received a doctorate from the School of Human and Organization Development from Fielding Graduate University, and she was the Director of the Masters Program in Organization Development at Sonoma State University. Her deep appreciation for cultural differences and how to bridge them is informed by field experiences in Peru, Africa, and Australia as well as being German-born and raised.

Brings more than sixteen years of administration experience to her role managing all facets of administration and accounting at The Grove. She has a bachelor's degree in American studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz and holds a certificate in human resource management from San Francisco State University.

Has been the creative lead on a variety of communications-design, product-development and marketing projects in her twenty-plus years with The Grove. Tiffany has a bachelor's degree in design from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Malgosia Kostecka

Malgosia Kostecka specializes in creating interactive visual frameworks for group collaboration and strategic visioning. With a background in education and project coordination, Malgosia is dedicated to leading participants in their process design, using creativity to achieve fruitful outcomes. She pursued the field of graphic facilitation after witnessing how previously frustrating meetings became successful and engaging with the use of a shared visual memory. Malgosia holds a bachelor of arts in psychology and fine art from The University of California, Santa Cruz.

Leah Anne Whitson manages the logistical details required to put together world-class workshops, working with workshop leaders and engaging with clients.  She has a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of Florida.
